Ingredients:
- 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury Crescent Roll Dough
- 2 medium Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored and sliced into 8 wedges each
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) Unsalted Butter
- 3/4 cup Cinnamon-Sugar Blend (3/4 cup granulated sugar and 1.5 tbsp ground cinnamon)
- 6 oz (1/2 cup) Lemon-Lime Soda
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your 9x13 baking dish.
- Peel and core your Granny Smith apples, then slice each into 8 equal wedges for a total of 16.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into the pre cut triangles.
- Place one apple wedge at the wide end of a triangle and roll it up tightly, tucking the corners in. Note: Tucking the corners helps trap the steam inside with the apple.
- Arrange all 16 wrapped dumplings in your baking dish, leaving a small space between each.
- Melt the 1/2 cup of butter and whisk in the cinnamon sugar blend until it looks like a thick, gritty paste.
- Drizzle that spiced butter glaze specifically over the top center of each dumpling.
- Pour the 6 oz of lemon lime soda around the edges of the pan. Pour carefully so you don't wash the sugar off the tops.
- Bake for 35 minutes until the tops are mahogany brown and the sauce is bubbling and thick.
- Remove from the oven and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before serving to let the sauce set.
