Ingredients:

  • 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury Crescent Roll Dough
  • 2 medium Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored and sliced into 8 wedges each
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) Unsalted Butter
  • 3/4 cup Cinnamon-Sugar Blend (3/4 cup granulated sugar and 1.5 tbsp ground cinnamon)
  • 6 oz (1/2 cup) Lemon-Lime Soda

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your 9x13 baking dish.
  2. Peel and core your Granny Smith apples, then slice each into 8 equal wedges for a total of 16.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into the pre cut triangles.
  4. Place one apple wedge at the wide end of a triangle and roll it up tightly, tucking the corners in. Note: Tucking the corners helps trap the steam inside with the apple.
  5. Arrange all 16 wrapped dumplings in your baking dish, leaving a small space between each.
  6. Melt the 1/2 cup of butter and whisk in the cinnamon sugar blend until it looks like a thick, gritty paste.
  7. Drizzle that spiced butter glaze specifically over the top center of each dumpling.
  8. Pour the 6 oz of lemon lime soda around the edges of the pan. Pour carefully so you don't wash the sugar off the tops.
  9. Bake for 35 minutes until the tops are mahogany brown and the sauce is bubbling and thick.
  10. Remove from the oven and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before serving to let the sauce set.
