Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground Italian sausage
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz frozen cheese ravioli
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 0.5 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 0.25 cup fresh basil, chiffonade
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground Italian sausage until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and dried oregano. Let the sauce simmer for 2 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Spread 1 cup of the prepared meat sauce across the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Arrange half of the frozen ravioli in a single layer over the sauce. Top with half of the remaining sauce and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining ravioli, the rest of the sauce, and the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes to steam the pasta.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for another 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
