Ingredients:
- 3 cups (450g) fresh blackberries
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp (30ml) fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp (30ml) water
Instructions:
- Place the fresh blackberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and water into the saucepan. Stir gently to ensure the sugar is evenly distributed among the berries.
- Set the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a boil. Once bubbling, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent the sugar from scorching, until the liquid has reduced to a glossy, syrupy consistency.
- Remove the pan from the heat. For a rustic sauce, leave as is; for a smooth glaze, press the sauce through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl, discarding the seeds.
