Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Cosi Recipes (cosirecipes.com) collects when you visit the site, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what choices you have. We aim to collect as little as we need to run the site, answer your messages and keep it secure.

This policy applies only to cosirecipes.com. It does not cover information collected offline, or on other websites that we link to, such as our Pinterest profile.

1. Your Consent

By using this website you agree to the practices described in this policy. Where the law requires your consent for certain technologies, such as non-essential cookies for visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, we ask for it before using them (see section 6). If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the site.

2. Information We Collect

Contact form

When you write to us through the contact page, we receive your name, your email address and the text of your message. We use this information only to reply to you.

Ratings and comments

If you rate a recipe or leave a comment, we receive the name you enter and the text you submit. Comments may be displayed publicly on the recipe page, so please do not include personal details such as your address or phone number.

Server logs

Like most websites, our web server automatically records standard technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, your browser type and the pages requested. We use these logs for security and troubleshooting.

Visit statistics

We measure how the site is used with first-party statistics that run on our own server. They record the page viewed and the referrer (the page or site that sent you here). Raw visit records are kept for 7 days and are then reduced to daily totals.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • reply to the messages you send through the contact form;
  • display the ratings and comments you submit on recipe pages;
  • keep the website secure, detect abuse and fix technical problems;
  • understand which recipes and pages are read, so we can improve the site and decide what to publish next;
  • comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the contents of your contact messages for marketing.

4. Log Files

Server logs contain IP addresses, browser details and the pages requested. They are used for security and troubleshooting, not to identify individual readers or to build profiles of them. Logs are kept only for as long as needed for these purposes.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Our site is delivered and protected through Cloudflare, a content delivery and security service, which may set technical cookies that help the site load reliably and protect it from malicious traffic. Our visit statistics are first-party and run on our own server.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking technical cookies may affect how some parts of the site work. Each browser's help pages explain how to manage cookies.

6. Third-Party Services and Consent

We rely on the following third-party services:

  • Cloudflare – content delivery and security. Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and block attacks, and is subject to its own privacy policy.
  • Pinterest – we link to our social profile there. If you follow the link, Pinterest's own privacy policy applies to what happens on its platform.

If Google advertising or other third-party advertising cookies are used on the site, they are used only after you have given consent where the law requires it. You can control Google's use of data for ads at adssettings.google.com, and learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Visitors in the EEA and UK: we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies or similar technologies, and you may withdraw it at any time through your browser settings or by contacting us. Strictly necessary technical cookies do not require consent.

We have no control over third-party sites and services. Please read their privacy policies for details of their practices and opt-out options.

7. Data Retention

  • Contact messages: kept as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up, then deleted.
  • Ratings and comments: kept for as long as the recipe page is published, unless you ask us to remove them.
  • Raw visit records: kept for 7 days, after which only daily totals remain.
  • Server logs: kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

8. Your Rights Under the GDPR

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access – request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification – ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure – ask us to delete your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Restriction – ask us to restrict how we process your data in certain circumstances.
  • Objection – object to our processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Portability – ask us to transfer your data to you or to another organization in certain circumstances.
  • Withdrawal of consent – withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.

We respond to requests within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you;
  • request deletion of the personal information we have collected from you;
  • request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information;
  • not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact us; we may need to verify your identity before acting on it, and we will respond within the time required by law.

10. Children's Privacy

Cosi Recipes is a general cooking site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the contact form or a comment, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect the information we hold, including the security services provided through Cloudflare. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sharing sensitive information in comments or messages.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when our practices or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the current version took effect. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
